Story
I knew I’d made a great choice when I joined Core Telecom in January because one of the first things that we talked about was our contribution towards charity. And we’re not talking about giving a quid to one of the big events to makes ourselves feel better. We wanted to get out there and do something for a cause that means something to us.
So, we've joined together to raise money for Diabetes UK as two of our colleagues suffer with diabetes. As a close team we now know all-to-well how life changing this disease can be.
So, we are going to walk up Tryfan Mountain and as an added bonus I have accepted the challenge of completing the infamous Leap of Faith. “The what?” I hear you ask…well the summit of Tryfan is noted for a pair of rocks called Adam and Eve which are some three metres high and separated by 1.2 metres. It is customary for those climbing Tryfan to jump between the two rocks; in doing so one is said to gain the "Freedom of Tryfan". Sounds easy but there is a huge drop on one side of the rocks which makes it both incredibly scary and dangerous.
The climb itself isn’t just an easy walk – we’ll need to scramble up plenty of rocks to reach the summit which is 3,101 feet above sea level!
So, any support you can give will really help us to smash our goal and make sure we make the summit. Please remember, every penny helps and anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
Tryfan Mountain, here we come!
