I have the great honour of running in this year's London Marathon on behalf of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

As you will see from their website (www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk) it's a fantastic cause and I hope that you'll contribute to my fund raising efforts. Every donation, however small, will be very greatly appreciated.

I know that some of you sponsored me in the Great North Run and are probably think 'here we go again!', I promise you that this will be the last time. I am only ever going to do one full marathon and this is it. It's just something I wanted to do before I die (hopefully not just before). Next time I start a new pastime it'll involve beer and a settee and won't be endorsed by the Charity Commission.
