Story

Updated on May 15th 2012 at 1:20 PM from the JustGiving API

Well I managed to complete the cycle despite having a lot of trouble with my knee. 55,000 feet of hills climbed, 77,000 calories burned, 1 puncture, 1box of Ibuprofen tablets and 2 boxes of paracetamol helped me complete just short of 1000 miles. The prevailing wind shifted to be in our face most of the time and the weather of the previously dry 5 months turned into 11 days of rain, hail, sleet and drizzle. Job done!!

Hi, Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page.

For some reason, (of which I am not quite sure?), I volunteered to cycle the 1000 mile length of the UK for the Dogs for the Disabled charity along with 13 other veterinary colleagues from Companion Care in 13 days. I can't say I am fit or that the 16 stone of me will help me much, (apart from the downhill sections in Cornwall or maybe the Highlands of Scotland), and I am sure the uphill sections will kill me, hopefully not literally!!

Please dig deep for a worthwhile cause because we never know what might become of us.....you only have one life - so live it!

If you don't believe me, see what they can do for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_yZGCNWCFk&feature=player_detailpage

Cheers

Richard
