Deloitte Ride Across Britain

The Deloitte Ride Acros Britain will be taking place in June 2011 when a group of around 600 cyclists will leave John O'Groats on 11 June 2011 and will arrive 950 miles later, in Land's End, hopefully without any injuries, on 19 June 2011.

Deloitte's Reorganisation Services department in Manchester are entering a team of three people - Heather Bamforth, Rob Howells and Yvonne Lorimer, all with different levels of cycling experience but all with the common goal of raising money to support ParalympicsGB in 2012.

ParalympicsGB

ParalympicsGB receive no funding for its core activites, and so have to raise funds to ensure the British team receive the preparations they need and deserve to perform at their best when it matters most.  Training camps, medical provisions, transportation, kit and media training are just a few of the elements ParalympicsGB has to provide to prepare the British team for the Paralympic Games and remove the pressures of a home Games.

With ParalympicsGB hoping to take over 300 athletes to compete in London, compared to 200 athletes who competed in Beijing, they need as much help as possible to enable them to compete at the highest level.

Deloitte Disability Sport

Deloitte Disability Sport is Deloitte's award winning programme that encourages and supports disabled people on their journey through sport - from participation, through performance, to the podium.  ParalympicsGB are facing the most crucial opportunity in their history - a home Paralympic Games.  This once in a lifetime event gives them the chance to make a lasting difference to Paralympic sport and perceptions of disability in the UK, but they need help to make that happen.
