Story

Andrew Carragher 24th May 1990 - 13th September 1990

Andrew Carragher was born on 24th May 1990 - a lovely little lad to join the Carragher Clan!

Andrew was with us for just under 4 months, before cot death claimed his little life on September 13th 1990.

Andrew would have turned 21 this year and to mark the occasion I would like to bring more awareness of cot death and the devastation it leaves behind.  We miss him every day and Andrew will always be our little star.

To remember all our little stars, we have decided to raise money in aid of the Trust by taking part in various fundraising activities.  We have already taken part in a Skydive to raise vital funds!  Thanks to my friend Jen Deas, Mark Mitchell (Treasurer of Area 49 Round Table).

Big thank you to Paul Bell, who is the Area Chairman of Area 49 Round Table and the Kinross Round Table , who have pledged to support the Trust for the next year!  They will be organising lots of fundraising in the coming year to support the work of the Trust.Area 49 have pledged to raise the money to fund the very first sibling resource book to help the" whole family" of a much loved little one that has been left  to try and  deal with the devistation that cot death leaves behind.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!

Rory's Star was written by The Trusts One & Only Lynda Bathgate and was launched on Remembrance Sunday 11th of November 2012.

Thanks also to Sainsburys Kinross, who have also chosen the Scottish Cot Death Trust as their Charity of the Year.  They too will be organising fundraising events throughout the year, including the Family Fun Cycle Challenge that took place on Sunday the 29th of April.

Every 9 days a child dies in Scotland from cot death.  The Trust is the ONLY charity in Scotland dedicated to the issue of cot death!

The Trust has 3 main aims:

To support the families devastated by a cot death

To educate professionals who are involved with the health and well being of children

To research the causes of cot death

The Trust receives just 3% of their annual income from the Government, so virtually all their income is fundraised!

'Andrew your light will always shine brightly'

Please help us remember Andrew and all the other little stars and support our Skydive!

Thank you x
