Next weekend I will be joining my Denstu Aegis Network colleagues in the Great Manchester Run 10k. Since January of this year I have proudly taken on the role of 10k brand ambassador for my company in our challenge to raise money for local homeless charity Booth Centre. The mission? To raise enough money to support Booth Centre's employment support programme which helps people to get back on their feet by finding employment, training or volunteering opportunities in the community. As brand ambassador and passionate runner myself I have encouraged employees to sign up and get training and fundraising.

As brand ambassador I was offered the opportunity to visit Booth Centre. As I walked around with my colleagues we were greeted by people keen to chat and understand my job and tell me about their ambitions too. The people we will be helping are just like you and I, they just need regular income, routine and a sense of belonging. I truly believe Booth Centre is a special charity and that the difference we are making is crucial to this charity’s survival.

We will all be keeping the homeless in mind as we run around the course.
I am so proud of the many Denstu Aegis employees from my company who have determinedly completed their couch to 5k programs and continued on to become 10k competitors. We have all made new friends and shared our stories, from fleeing Canada geese on Manchester’s canals at lunchtime to jumping on a metro 7k through!
