Story
On the 17th of November I will be hiking up Mount Cadair Idris in Snowdonia, Wales. The ascent of this 893m high mountain will be in association with East Africa Emergency Appeal, each and every penny of every donation will go directly towards helping those most in need.
The vulnerable people of Somalia and South Sudan are in desperate need of your help.
Lack of rain, failing crops and a severe water shortage have plunged millions of people into desperate conditions. Food prices have rocketed as supplies are increasingly scarce.
- 1.4 million children are severely malnourished and at immediate risk of disease and death.
- In Somalia, more than 6 million people are in urgent need of food assistance.
- At least 100,000 people face the prospect of famine in South Sudan.
- 1,170,000 are estimated to be severely food insecure, trying desperately to make it through each day.
Desperate circumstances are further amplified by conflict and threat of rape and kidnapping in an area that has already seen much violence.
Any donation no matter what amount will be greatly appreciated by me and, much more importantly, will be of benefit to the people struggling in East Africa. Together we can have an imaginable impact.
- £60 can provide food parcels for local families for a month – giving them the supplies and nutrition.
- £90 can provide life-saving food and water to an entire family for a whole month.
- £150 provides one share in a Borehole, which will provide water to 50,000 people.
- £200 provides a mobile clinic, which will provide live saving emergency medical attention to 500 people.
