Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 25 August 2013

Our vision is to spark ambition and unlock opportunity so that every young person can succeed and thrive as part of a fairer society. Our purpose is to help underserved young people discover their talents, think bigger about their future, and build the confidence and valuable skills.

Story

At the end of August Mike Green and Rachel Stephenson will be accompanying four schools on a trip of a lifetime to scale new heights - to Mount Kilimanjaro to be precise. Pimlico Academy, City of Leeds School, Copland Community School from London and Manchester Health Academy will be taking on the ultimate challenge of 5,895m up Kilimanjaro.

The money raised from the trek will fund additional activities for the Trust's network of schools, providing children from deprived and challenged communities with extracurricular opportunities and experiences that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. The activities are genuinely fun, but they also help equip them with core skills, such as numeracy, communication and technological fluency, which are valued in the workplace and will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

We would love your support in helping us raise funding to continue the great work of the Trust.

We are training extremely hard - Mike's boots have already been into the cobblers for much needed repairs and Rachel has blisters!

70% of those attempting the climb make it to the top so please get behind us.

Your help is hugely appreciated.
