RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Hello, my name is Rachel Matthews and I am 14 years old. At school we were given the chance to take part in Young Enterprise's 'Tenner Challenge 2013'. This is where you have 1 month to make as much money as you can from a £10 start-up fund. For my business, I have decided to play piano everyday at the RNLI Slipway Bar (RNLI college, Poole) at 7.30pm, donating all the money I make to the RNLI.

Also, I have set-up an auction on eBay for a personal Skype performance that sold for £20! Keep looking here for updates on new eBay listings!

I am aiming to make enough money to train and kit-out a lifeboat crew member. This costs £2232.

My latest campaign is #pianoinspace. I am trying to get my piano performance heard on the International Space Station! Please follow me on Twitter @RachelMatt14 and retweet #pianoinspace to get as much publicity for my project as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page - I hope that you can support my fantastic charity by donating generously! :)
