On April 18th 2010 we said goodbye to Ben, our 18 year old loyal and loveable black Labrador who had to be helped on his final journey after fighting cancer till the end. Ben was found wandering the street as a stray one night but a knock on the door and a bit of luck lead him to our door and he made himself at home. Ben was never claimed by his owner which led us to believe that his owner had abandoned him.

Throughout the years, Ben was a big part of our family, and right to the end, Ben had the love of his family surrounding him and his memories will live on with all of us forever.
I feel that every dog has the right to this love right until the end and because of this I will be running for Oldies Club!

Oldies Club is a charity dedicated to helping homeless older dogs. As well as supporting numerous dogs in our foster homes, they also assist other rescues by advertising their older dogs on their website. Their website is full of dogs of all shapes and sizes, with a variety of different personalities and needs from all over the UK.

Oldies Club does an amazing job rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing dogs aged 7 and upwards and finding them their forever home. Because the Oldies Club only deals with older dogs, and often deals with dogs that have been neglected, vets bills are the most important and expensive of our day to day costs.

All of their dogs receive a thorough vet check, and all too often they require dental treatment, treatment of lumps and bumps, help with eye and skin problems, as well as the more usual issues of vaccinations. Sadly some of the dogs who come into them prove to have serious health issues and can not be re-homed. These dogs are are supported in permanent foster homes for life.

Your money that is donated will go towards giving dogs under the care of Oldies Club a full vet check, micro chipping, worming /fleaing. and neutering when medical reasons do not prevent it.
