Story
Hello and welcome to our page!
I've had M.E. for 16 years now, a good portion of them years have been extremely tough. For many months I was pretty much bed bedbound, used a wheelchair for years and then with the aid of a walking frame got back on my feet. I'm now lucky enough that I walk with confidence and am joyous every day that I'm able. It is for that reason that I find it very apt to be taking part in this years 'Walk for ME' - doing something I once lost the ability to do in order to help others like me.
It is my great hope that with further knowledge and understanding of the condition, that future sufferers will not have to face the same fight as I and others like me have! I walk for them, for fellow sufferers who are not able and also for myself...to recognise how far I've come.
On the 17th of May my friends and I shall be taking part in 'Walk for ME 2014' My aim is to complete a 5km walk in Poole, Dorset. Other friends of mine will also be walking for me in their home towns.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.

"Hi - Since knowing Rachel over the past couple of years I have come to gain a better understanding of what having M.E. can mean for people and how it can change their lives. I'm happy to be walking with and for Rachel in Poole on the 17th May in order to help raise funds for M.E. Research. Looking forward to the walk on what should be a nice sunny day. Thank you to everyone for supporting us and this very deserving cause" - Zara O'Sullivan
"Hi everyone, myself and my little boy Harry (4) will be walking 3 miles to raise money for the fabulous cause that is 'Walk For Me'. So, on May 17th we will complete 12 laps of Cherry Tree Cricket pitch Blackburn which equals 3 miles. Please sponsor as much as you can to raise funds that will help support those who desperately need support from this charity. ME is a very misunderstood condition, and having seen such a dear friend suffer and face frustration many years, I hope we can help the charity to find answers for many who are under its awful grip xx" - Kirsty Doherty
