Willberry Wonder Pony
Hannah Francis was the inspiration for the beginings of this charity. Hannah was sadly diagnosed with bone cancer. She was passionate about eventing and her trainer gave Willberry to Hannah as her mascot. Willberry Wonder Pony charity is Hannah's legacy, she wanted to raise as much money as possible to help fund vital research into better, more effective treatments for osteosarcoma (bone cancer) plus offer seriously ill people the chance to make their horsey wish come true.
Hannah passed away on the 1st of august 2016 aged 18.
The Wobbleberry Challenge
This is aimed at raising money for Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony charity by encouraging 'middle aged wimpy' riders to get out and train to complete a BE80 One Day Event. As a group we aim to raise £50,000 and have alot of fun along the way.
All About Us
Neither me or my horse are what most would class as 'eventers' i can just about cope with hacking and feel ill at the thought of riding in an open space! Never the less, me and my horse Ronnie have signed up to have a bash at a BE80 event next year. Ronnie is a 16yr old ex racehorse and i'm a 30yr old who has only ridden in a show class twice!
I have an excellent trainer behind me plus my very own cheering section. Any help at all to reach my fundraising goals will be very much appreciated and i will keep updating this page with our progress as we go along the next few months.
The Nitty Gritty Bits
We have a long way to go. Ronnie has just come back from Leahurst after having several melanomas removed. His fitness is not great and mine is worse!
I am planning to get to THE event in june/july time however if i or my trainer decide Ronnie is struggling, we will do an unaffiliated ODE at a lower level instead.
WISH US LUCK!
