Story

THE CHALLENGE

http://toughmudder.co.uk/

This is possibly the most stupid thing I've ever done (except that time I went to a warehouse party with Simon).  Tough Mudder is a 12 mile long obstacle couse designed by the Special Forces.  Last weekend  I tried to do a chin up. It's nearly Wednesday and I can still barely lift my arms.

Just some of the 25+ obstacles I'm looking at over 12 miles of mud:

Electroshock Therapy: Sprint through a field of live wires — some carrying as much as 10,000 volts of electric shock.

Fire Walker: Running through a trench of blazing, kerosene-soaked straw. You can expect flames at least 4 feet tall.

Arctic Enema: Jump into Big Mudder’s floating iceberg abyss. Once submerged, find the mental and physical strength to swim through the ice, under a wooden plank and pull yourself out on the other end before you become hypothermic.

THE CAUSE

The Royal Marsden is doing some bloody good healthcare and when you or someone you know needs them - you're pretty glad they're there.

So raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is going to be what that gets me through swimming through ice lakes and dodging electrically charged ropes.  Along with being hosed down by a fireman at the end of the course.  So please blow the cobwebs off that Visa and be generous.

That Electroshock Therapy thing? I'll be running through that on 9 June. Make it £20 rather than £10, eh?

Or if you prefer the straightforward approach: My friend has cancer. DONATE!
