Prostate Cymru was founded in 2003, made up mainly of volunteers, it has grown from strength to strength raising awareness, procuring equipment and lobbying for improvements in men’s prostate health care in Wales.
Prostate Cancer claims 11,000 lives per year, with up to 32,000 new cases diagnosed annually. 2547 Welsh men are diagnosed and 550 Welsh men die each year from the disease. Although this type of cancer is rare in men under the age of 50, it becomes more common with age.
The risk of Prostate Cancer is 1 in 8 Welsh men, it is the most common cancer in Welsh men. 1 in 4 run the risk as Afro- Caribbean and the risk is even higher at 1 in 3 if there is history of Prostate Cancer in your family.
As a team we hope to raise £5000 to help fight this deadly disease and make a difference.
