*UPDATE: This fundraising page is a team page for myself, Charlotte Watson and Michelle Marshall. We completed the walk as a team and have decided to use one page for all of our collective fundraising. 

I’m taking part in The Big Walk 2019, a walking challenge on Friday 28 June. I’ll be aiming to complete 23 miles through the Peak District starting at Bamford and continuing up through Ladybower and Bradfield, Dam Flask and Crosspool before coming down to the University for a celebratory finish!

We are fundraising for student scholarships to give as many students as possible the opportunity to study at the University of Sheffield. Scholarships are vital to reduce barriers for bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to have a university education. Students who are from lower-income backgrounds often have to turn to loans to cover the cost of living, which can leave these students with debts £50,000 or more. Fear of these debts can discourage both prospective undergraduates and bright graduates from pursuing further study.

This is my first big walk, in fact I don't think I've ever walked further than 12 miles, so your donations will spur me on to the finish line and help me achieve something for myself too!
