Phils Achy Breaky Bears Brighton Marathon page

Brighton Marathon 2018 · 15 April 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This years challenge to raise money on behalf of the Achy Breaky Bears for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital is to run the Brighton Marathon!
The idea of running 26.2miles has never even crossed my mind....well that’s a lie!...I have thought about a marathon before but it was along the lines of why the hell would anyone want to run that far and I never entertained the idea of running one!
So what’s changed?
Last year I completed the London Triathlon and helped the Achy Breaky Bears raise over £4000 for GOSH pushing their overall total raised for GOSH to £30000!
Completing a triathlon pushed me out my comfort zone and made me complete something I probably would not have done had I not been raising money for GOSH.
So with that in mind I have picked another challenge that I would not have pushed myself to do had I not been raising money....let’s be honest people would much rather sponsor me for doing something that I’ll find tough to complete.
The Achy Breaky Bears was started by Mark Pittam as his son has been under their care over the past 6 years. Great Ormond Street are doing an amazing job so if people can dig as deep as possible to help exceed my target that would be amazing. Even if its only £1, it all helps towards this great cause !!!
