Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year at 50 and as a New Roadie I completed the Alpe d'Huez Challenge successfully and raised £6700 for charity. The whole experience was hugely rewarding for me so at the end of September I'm taking part in the Massif Challenge to raise funds again.
I've been cycling regularly over the Summer months and should be fit for purpose but as a "big unit" distance and climbing are always a challenge! Our team of four will relay in pairs for two days then each ride the final "climbing" day solo.
50% of the funds we raise will go to Cancer Research UK and British Heart Foundation with the remaining 50% allocated to local charities chosen by the Team. Last year we raised £20k in total which enabled us to distribute donations to the Children's Cancer Wards at Salisbury and Southampton hospitals.
My motivation is to help others in need by taking on a significant physical challenge and inspire others to get on their bike and enjoy the freedom of cycling and get healthy with it. Just have a go and you'll not look back!
Thank you in anticipation of your support for these worthy causes.
