More seriously, The Prince's Trust helps young people in the UK by running a range of training programmes, providing mentoring support and offering financial grants to build the confidence and motivation of disadvantaged young people. Each year they work with 50,000 young people, with around 80% moving on to Employment, Education, Training or Volunteering.

They need to raise funds from sponsorship of around £18 million to do this, so these sponsored events are important for the charity.
