Story
I'm a last minute replacement so I've not really had time to do any training and as this walk will be off the back of a lads weekend I'm going to look to the past to pull me through.
About 15 years ago, on Christmas Day, my father was helicoptered off Ben Nevis with a broken leg and he made the national news! I'll do this walk in his memory and also for my grandfather who marched for 300 miles to lead civilians and soldiers out of Burma to escape the Japanese invasion in World War Two. This challenge is a walk in the park by comparison and I'll reflect on that when times get tough.
Lastly, the Prince's Trust is a exceptional charity and well worth or support and your charitable donation.
This is the plan:
6am – 11 am: Ben Nevis, Fort William, Scotland 1343 metres (basecamp at 50 metres) - Total climb of 1293 metres
Total distance: +/- 44Km (same as my age)
Total Time on bus: +/- 14 hours!? (that's a big challenge in itself!)
Thanks for reading and for your support.
