So an old friend/team mate/golfing buddy of ours is raising money to help his chosen charity develop some family rooms for people to stay at Ronald McDonald House in Manchester. The sum they require is £250,000 and Steve has set his heart on making sure that they get it. It's a large sum of money, so it's a remarkable challenge that Steve has taken on. More remarkable is that Steve is doing this whilst going through an unimaginable battle of his own.

Steve was diagnosed with cancer last spring and was informed in autumn that it is terminal. Whilst going through his treatment he has suffered cardiac arrests and lost the sight in one eye. But has this stopped him? Not for a minute. I can honestly say that his reaction to his battles are an absolute inspiration and it is a fitting tribute that the charity have decided to name the rooms the Steve Burne Rooms in his honour and as a legacy for him and his family.

We for our part are going to run, jog, walk or stagger round the 10K course with as many other people as possible in attempt to help Steve move towards his target. Please, please, please get involved. The more the merrier and the more we can raise. So many good causes around but I'm sure you'll agree, this one is pretty special.
