Story
If you are reading this then thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to hopefully make a donation to a very worthy cause.
Most of us know someone who has died or is dying or has been diagnosed with some form of cancer. I have had my own first-hand experience of someone close to me being diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, and within a matter of days being told that the duration of the cancer from first onset/diagnosis to death was 6-8 weeks. The shock of everything in a situation like this is hard to handle but your attention quickly moves to the sufferer and the care they need to make life as comfortable as possible for whatever time they have left.
It's an extremely emotional time for everyone involved and the care factor becomes ultra critical and important not just for the sufferer but also family and friends. If it is provided by experienced nurses and doctors in a compassionate caring way it makes a very difficult situation a little more bearable for all involved. In my own case it made the world of difference to my family and we were forever grateful for the care received.
So why Macmillian? Well they provide the care and attention that cancer sufferers and their families need and they are great at it! However, they need the financial support to continue their excellent work and without the efforts of donors in the UK and around the world they struggle to provide the care and support to the levels they feel are necessary and critical.
I know that many of you donate to very worthwhile charities around the world and this is yet another request but I hope you can see the worthy nature of Macmillan's work and you can donate something.
