In October 2014 my wife was approached by a friend asking her to take part in a challenge to raise money for Cancer Research. Whilst talking about the challenge my wife has come out with 'I know, why don't you do it with me?' With one eye on the telly I have replied 'Yeah, OK' without really thinking or knowing what the challenge was. With ears definitely switched on she informed me that the challenge was a triathlon: an 400 m swim, 23 km cycle and 5 km run. Not wanting to appear worried by the prospect I have maintained that I would participate.

On hearing the worthy cause the challenge was for I have decided to have a real good go at it. All the members of#TeamHelen are putting the lengths and miles in, trying to prepare for our own personal challenges. Raising money for a worthwhile cause while doing so makes it somewhat easier. Now where did I put those goggles, bike and trainers?!!!
