On the 12th September 2014 I will be undertaking a challenge of a lifetime by hiking up the 3 highest peaks in the Atlas mountains in Morocco.  The hike will take me 10 days and we will reach altitudes of over 4,000m.  I will be battling with extremes of temperature and altitude whilst undertaking this expedition.  We will be camping on the mountains in temperatures of below 0 oC.

I am taking part in this challenge to raise money and thank Macmillan for the incredible support that they have given to me, Steve and Oscar following my diagnosis of breast cancer last year, and for the ongoing support that I am receiving during my treatment.  Without their help my fight against this terrible disease would have been an awful lot harder.

I will be paying for the expenses associated with the expedition so that all of the money raised will go directly to this important charity.

Macmillan is completely funded by charitable donations.  The frightening statistic is that 1 in 3 people will suffer from cancer and therefore, at some stage, the majority of us will need assistance from Macmillan, either directly or because a loved one is battling this dreadful disease.  Please help if you can.

For example, a donation of £10 can keep 5 Macmillan support centres stocked with the information that they need to support people for 1 hour, £25 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for an hour to provide medical, practical and emotional support to cancer sufferers and their families.
