We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

On 20th March 2011 Paula's son Jonah drowned. Thankfully he was eventually resuscitated by their friend but was critical. He was put into a coma for Neuroprotection and transferred to Great Ormond Street. Paula and Ivan were given accommodation (funded by the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity) for the entire time Jonah was in hospital. Jonah's sister and brother came to visit him and had a pre arranged greeting by clowns and play therapists who prepared them to see their critically ill little brother and made sure they had positive memories of their visit. Once out of his coma, a very distressed Jonah was in a state of trauma and the only place he found respite was in the sensory room on the ward.

Neither of us have run more than 6 miles before but we want to raise money to continue to provide these services and people for future parents, siblings and poorly children who will have to go to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Please sponsor us to encourage us in our training and to get us round our big run!

JustGiving is a fantastic way to give as they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
