Story
The Crescent are going to Wembley! And like every amazing Wembley team, we need your support!
On Monday August 20, two of us will leave Old Trafford, Manchester, bound for the 2018 Rugby League Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
We’ll be on bikes but this is no ordinary challenge – rather than going directly we’ll be avoiding roads wherever possible and covering over 300 miles on forest trails, bridleways, canal paths and the occasional ploughed fields through the heart of England over five gruelling days.
It’s all for a great cause, the independent charity Rugby League Cares which does so much good for people involved at every level of the sport, from helping players retrain for life after rugby at the end of their careers, and driving plans for a first-ever National Rugby League Museum, to running successful health and wellbeing campaigns, often aimed at men.
Like The Crescent, RL Cares are passionate about communities and we love what they do. We would also love it if you get behind The Crescent’s terrific twosome by sponsoring us on our epic adventure!
Neither of us are cyclists – when we signed up for this challenge neither of us even owned a bike! – but by taking part we know we can help RL Cares change people’s lives
for the better, and change our own live for the better at the same time!
The Crescent’s dynamic duo are;
Paula Chamberlain and Adam Farrar
To prepare for the ride, we’re planning a few special events and activities and it would be brilliant if you could get involved. We’ll be in touch soon with details!
As well as The Crescent’s Quite terrific twosome, the UK Red Ride to Wembley for RL Cares features eight super-fit Rugby League legends, including Gareth Ellis, Keith Senior, Nathan McAvoy, Mick Cassidy and Robbie Hunter-Paul. How will we cope?!
