Story

Britain's furniture and furnishing industry provides an important contribution to the way we all live. It provides education to young creative people and worthwhile fulfilling careers. Not all, however can start to develop their talent without a little help.

The Furniture Makers charity goes back over 100 years. It supports young people from early in their education through to the early years of their career within the furniture, furnishing and bedding industry - be they designers, makers, manufacturers or retailers. The prizes, grants and bursaries the Charity provides are vital in today's world to enable young talent to develop and thrive.

And then, as careers develop and retirement comes, hard times can happen through bad luck or circumstance; the Charity supports those in distress with pensions and welfare grants which make an important difference at just the right time allowing those who have devoted themselves to work dignity in a moment of need.
