Paul is a Director of Working At Height Limited, he is the youngest of seven children that had the misfortune of being touched by Parkinson's disease, Pauls Father was diagnosed in his latter years, the impact that this had on his family is indescribable, Paul (or Paulo as his 'Dad' called him) eventually lost his Father to Parkinson's in March 2009, there are no words to describe how this affected his family, however the never ending tears are a testament to the man.
Colm Whittle was 80 years of age when he finally lost a battle that he fought with bravery and a huge amount of dignity, it was the war that he had with Parkinsons that now drives his family to raise money to find a cure and create awareness, so the fight continues, he fought his covert war with Parkinson's with the planning of a General, as soon as knew he could donate tissue after his death he set the process rolling and laid in wait, this was some years before his death, as soon as he passed away he sprang his surprise offensive when his brain and spinal cord were donated for research.
Colm was a very keen runner, and completed three London marathons, there is no doubt that he will be taking every stride with Paul in his attempt to post a good time, keep an eye out for 'Paulo' on the 24th of October as it will be written on his vest.
Paul and his family are determined to continue the fight that their 'Dad' and 'Grandad' started because he felt he had to, its now a case of wanting to, in his memory.
