Story
George was born 10 weeks early on the 20th October and needed to be ventilated until Christmas to keep him alive, in the mean time he was diagnosed with Prader-willi-syndrome which is a very rare genetic condition which affects around 1 in 15000 babies randomly. It's not passed on from the mother or father so the chances of it happening again are virtually 0%. It affects muscle tone and the part of the brain which knows that you are full up, so people affected are constantly hungry. It can also affect things like temperature control and people with the condition can have learning difficulties. It is a spectrum condition so some people can have it severely and some mildly. So the future is very uncertain. It all revolves around chromosomes and George is missing a vital part of number 15.
Me and my friend Perksy are running the Birmingham half marathon along with Zoe and Sadie Evans in October which will be around George's first birthday..
We are both healthy but a lot of work needs to be done as we are more towards the unfit side of heathy! And we do like a beer or two!🍻🍻
Zoe and Sadie are machines so will blitz it 😃
We raising money for the PWSA -Prader willi syndrome association which support family's who have just had the diagnosis and also family's who already have family members with this condition, they spread awareness of the condition and also put money into research to finding a cure.
