Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page

Having retired two years ago after 40 years as a teacher I decided that no longer would September be a month to be approached with a teacher's doom and dread; rather it could become a time filled with really positive enjoyable experiences.

So far so good - the last two years have seen successive sponsored walks in Spain and Wales, raising funds for 2 very worthwhile causes.  This year I've decided to support Kings College London in its work in developing the Crohn's MAP Vaccine in a hope to finding a cure for Crohn's Disease.

While I don't personally suffer from Crohn's or any of the other Colitis-related illnesses I have several friends and colleagues that do.  I've seen the very  debilitating impact they can have on the lives of the sufferers and while they have been able to manage their conditions via dietary control etc I think it's time more time and money was invested in finding a cure for Crohn's and Colitis.  With this in mind I decided I'd like to do a little bit to help.
