Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've joined a team of riders aiming to complete an epic but gruelling ride to raise awareness and much-needed funds for research to assist those living with Kennedy's Disease.

From the 16th to 24th July we'll be riding over 1,200kms from Chamonix to Venice and climbing over 20,000 metres in 8 days (that's more than twice the height of Mt. Everest).

Kennedy’s Disease (X-linked motor neuron disease) is a rare inherited, adult-onset, neuromuscular disorder, characterised by the degeneration of lower motor neurons within the spinal cord and brainstem. This causes progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles particularly in the arms and legs.

It is estimated that 1 in 40,000 people have this genetic defect and because it is relatively rare, Kennedy’s Disease is often initially misdiagnosed or goes undiagnosed for years. There is no cure for Kennedy’s disease and no current treatment available.

Please help by giving whatever you can to this fantastic event & cause.
