We raise funds to support The Walton Centre in Liverpool

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may know, about a week after Rachel & I got married, she became ill, while we were on honeymoon. Soon after that, she had an emergency brain operation to relieve the build up of fluid pressure in her head. That was back in September 2009, and in the year that followed, she has undergone a further 3 brain and 1 spine operations. Since this last operation, she has been on the long journey of bascially learning to walk again.

All these procedures have been carried out by the fantastic team of people at The Walton Centre, a specialist neuro-surgery hospital we are lucky to live close to. To be blunt, they have saved her life. More than once.

To help honour the amazing courage that Rachel has shown, and the work which the hospital have done, I am taking part in the 54 mile ride from Liverpool to Chester. And back. Also taking part are Dave, Rachel's Dad, and Chris, her brother.

So here's the money bit. Rachel had a condition called Chiari Malformation, and were trying to raise money to help the reserach teams at the Walton Centre learn more about this, and other relatively unknown, brain conditions.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

30-06-11 We didn't really set a target when we thought of doing this fundraiser, but, including Gift Aid and offline donations, we think we have hit £1000! Thank you so much to those who have sponsored us, every penny really does count!!!
