Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.
I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in January 2013 and finished treatment, including two operations at St Mark's Hospital, Harrow, in January 2014. Since then I have devoted part of my time and energy to raising funds for St Mark's Hospital Foundation, for research into better treatments and cures for bowel diseases, including Crohn's, colitis, IBS and cancer.
I have met with medics and researchers at St Mark's carrying out this work and I'm totally convinced that their properly funded research can deliver life-changing results. The commitment of the staff there has to be experienced to be believed, as any St Mark's patient will testify.
Please read the other riders' stories - follow the link to the "Team" page - to see why they're raising money for this cause.
And this short film will give you a feel for what St Mark's represents to its patients and staff:

Last year's Colon Challenge raised £35,000, so this year's target has to be higher: £50,000. Two off-line donations of £10,000 each (plus £5,000 Gift Aid) have got us off to a great start!
Thank you for your support,
Paul
