Hi I'm Pat, thank you for visiting my page!

I'm running this year's London Marathon for Chelmsford Cats Protection.  It's a charity that's been close to my heart since I adopted my own two kittens, siblings Poppy and Harry (now much bigger but just as mischievous!) from the Chelmsford Adoption Centre in 2012.

Currently I'm training hard and fundraising harder, but I'm not training alone!  I've been teamed with long stay cat Thomas O'Malley, a rather unlikely training buddy!  

In just under a month, I'll be tackling the iconic 26.2 mile race in (what I hope will be!) under five hours and hoping to meet my new target of £2,000!  Tom's target is slightly different, but a personal challenge none the less!  Over the 12 months Tom's been with the Adoption Centre, he's had four operations to correct problems he's had with his eyes.  This has meant a lot of rest in order to recover and as a result, Tom's got a little bit porky!  Thomas is hoping to slim down to a more healthy 4.69kg (at his heaviest he was 6.25kg), over a period of 32 weeks.  He's doing this via a specially designed veterinary diet and plenty of play with catnip mice and toys (his favourite is the feather on a stick!!). I'm pleased to report that Tom, like myself, is currently smashing his targets!  Go #teamPatTom !

It'd mean a lot to both myself and Tom to know we've got people behind us as we both approach our goals.  All donations, whatever their size, are crucial to the work of the Adoption Centre in helping cats like Tom.  I'm proud to be representing the branch - look out for me in the crowd of runners on the big day!
