Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you may know, bolting up mountains is something I have done a few times before - I've climbed active volcanoes in Guatemala, stood on the summit of Mt Washington, home of the world's most extreme weather, and trekked up Mt Kilimanjaro to see the dawn from the roof of Africa.  I usually do it for the fun of it, but every now and then I'm reminded that there are some extremely worthy causes that can benefit from my masochistic tendencies.

Next week I'll be trying to make my way to the top of Table Mountain alongside about 40 other GVI staff, volunteers and supporters - some of whom will have spent the previous 5 days covering 350km without any powered transportation.  The hike is inspired by the 350.org campaign to raise awareness about carbon emissions and climate change, and we are raising money to help another of GVI's sustainability initiatives - education infrastructure in disadvantaged communities.  You can find out more about the projects we support at gvi.org.
