When my mate asked me if I wanted to take part in a charity bike ride I thought great I'll dig the old bike out and give it a go. A few miles I thought - 30, 40, 50 at the most probably. What I hadn't realised was it was going to be a little bit further...in fact quite a LOT further... 900 miles further to be precise!

So, new bike, new shoes, new helmet and full on training begins!

The plan is to start in Winchester on the 6th September and cover 9 countries in 9 days and hopefully (fingers crossed and assuming my navagation skills hold up) we'll end up in Venice on the 15th!

Im funding the cost of the whole trip myself, so all the money that I raise will go to Cancer Research UK.

I've lost members of my own family to cancer and I really want to be able to make difference to the valuable work they are doing.
