Story
As my followers totriornottotri.com are aware (and probably bored of by now) on 7 July 2013 I will join 1299 others at the start of the Outlaw Ironman distance triathlon. The long course, Iron distance is a 3.8km (2.4mile) swim, 180km (112mile) bike ride and finishes with a marathon (42.2km/26.2 miles) in under 17 hours. Starting in the dawn sun at the National Watersports centre, Nottingham we will set off in a maelstrom washing machine that is typical of water swimming but has a closer resemblance to a brawl. If I survive the swim and beat the cut off I face a bike ride that is longer than I have ever cycled before completing only my 3rd ever marathon whilst fighting the effects and fatigue of the day’s adventure.

Just to make sure I get round! A little motivation.
I will be raising money for Odyssey which is a charity that provide outdoor breaks/activities for cancer sufferers. My Mum has had breast cancer twice in 5 years and has benefited greatly from their support. It can be a difficult time and the emotional support they provide does far more that any yellow sodding wrist band will ever do by “raising awareness”.
I do hate begging for sponsorship especially for an activity I enjoy but given the severity of this once in a lifetime (MAYBE) challenge I feel I am justified in asking you to support this. I may have bitten off more than I can chew this time. If you are still reading you may have missed the link. So here it is again… http://www.justgiving.com/Oliver-Nokes
