Story
At 54 years of age I continue to think I am getting dafter! It seemed like a good idea when Sue Farrington Smith ( Brain Tumour Research's CEO) and I decided that I would take on this challenge.
Why? Well that bit is simple, research into brain tumours is terribly underfunded and without research, there are fewer treatments, and no hope.
It costs £2740 to provide one day of research in one lab - so we decided that the target would be to raise £43,840, the cost of providing 4 days of research in the 4 partner labs Brain Tumour Research work with, by cycling over 400 miles in 4 days.
The itinerary is as follows:
Day 1 - 106 miles on Saturday 28th February 2015
Brain Tumour Research HQ in Padbury, Bucks to Imperial College, London then onto Blizard Institute at Queen Mary University London, finally to Tonbridge.
Day 2 - 107 miles on Sunday 1st March 2015
Tonbridge to the Brain Tumour Research lab, University of Portsmouth, finally to Fareham.
Day 3 - 93 miles on Monday 2nd March 2015
Fareham to Bridport.
Day 4 - 97 miles on Tuesday 3rd March 2015
Fareham to the Brain Tumour Research lab, University of Plymouth.
If you can help by sponsoring me, supporting along the route, join in and cycling part of the route - get some sponsorship and help us achieve our target, take pity on me, it's certainly going to be cold and dark and no doubt wet, possibly snowing!
After all - how hard can it be?
