Story
Well the race has come and gone... I completed the course in 2hr 40m and 43 secs. Slower then i'd hoped but with the tollerence i'd agreeed with myself..
And now the racing driver execuses begin...
My trainer pressures were wrong..for sure...
I couldn't transfer the pace I had in practice into the race.. for sure
For sure..Silverstone is difficult track to set up for and we dont have the home advantage...for sure..
The target has been met for the half marathon but dont stop giving... the page is still open and I'll be updating it with race progress from the swinging 60's series...
Thanks again
With just one night to go before I tack to the track I'm floored by the donations that I've recieved. The people that I speak to at The Childrens Trust thank you all as do I.
I'll update the page agai after the race tomorrow and let you know how much it hurts!!
Ok its this SUNDAY!!! The weather doesnt look too bad ( its not raining!! ) So I can leave the wellies ta home at least!!
The total raised is going up nicely but i still need more.... so come on... Give give give!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
With 10 days to go I'm up to just over £880.00 !!!
I've been truely floored by the generosity of my supporters and I thank you all.
The training is still ongoing and Im not where I'd have hoped to have been but never the less I will achieve the goal and get my butt around the course.
I've recieved my final instructions and it's all very real...
I'm too scared to check the long range forcast in case I see SNOW! - non of my training sessions have involved wellies!
Thanks again and please pass this on to everyone you know, it really is a good cause....

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2010 is a big year for me... I'll be racing at Brands, SPA and even the Nurburgring in the swinging 60's series of the CSCC.
They're all small fry however compared to my first race of the year. March 14th at Silverstone. 4 laps of the famous grand prix circuit.
Yes just 4 laps... but it'll be the longest 4 laps of my life, I'll be without the cars in the photos and videos... and I'll be swapping my racing shoes and overalls for a pair of running shoes and shorts, the Silverstone Half Marathon will be my first outing on track in 2010 and the one I'll remember for the rest of my life.
I'm raising funds for The Childrens Trust (http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/) a UK charity dedicated to helping children with multiple disabilities. Check out the website to see the truley life changing work that they carry out with young people up and down the country.
They need your help and I'm here to ask for it.... I'll be continuing to raise money for the Trust throughout the year, the Beetle will carry the Trusts logo and I'll be looking for donations at every race - so if you're coming to watch bring some cash with you!! I'll be selling laps in the race car whenever possible but you can make a donation either way!
I'll be updating this site with the dates of the races, the big UK date is the 16th May, the full race weekend is live on Motors TV, so come along to Mallory Park and dont forget your "hello Mum" banners!!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.... go on... you know you want to!!
