Story

Rheumatoid Arthritis is nothing to do with wear and tear or creaking bones with old age.

It's actually a chronic autoimmune disease where the body turns on itself, affecting the joints and organs. It’s vicious and can attack anyone at any age – at anytime.

Our News Editor Jess Boulton’s mum Sue is a Harley Davidson biker who used to walk miles and miles each day.

But one night her body went into spasm and for months she couldn't walk, couldn't hold anything, nothing.

Her ordeal is why 11 of us from Now magazine are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 7 in aid of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.

The charity works tirelessly to help people like Jess’s mum and promote awareness about the disease, but is often overlooked when it comes to fundraising.

So please we ask you to donate as generously as you can. It’s only the thought of the money we’re raising which will get us round the 13 miles – and as Jess’s mum is hoping to walk the final five metres with us, we better get there!

Thank you so much!

Sally, Victoria, Louis, Sam, Jessica, Jade, Kirsty, Andy, Nicola, Stuart and Beth

Very special thanks to Garment Printing for kindly adding our logo to our running vests!
