Well what can I say…. WE did it in 23 hours & 29 minutes!!! I feel absolutely brilliant, but still a bit tired. Ben Nevis was so amazing and I loved that one! It was very clear up there but very hard going as we went off too quickly as all very keen to get on our way. Once on the top of the mountain it was freezing about -11 with lots of snow so hiking in snow was a new concept to all of us!! Coming down quite a different matter as some of it was done on our bottoms much to icy for trying to walk on. Managed that one in 4 hours 55 minutes. Then on to Scafell Pike. I have to say I am not impressed with this one at all! Just so many rocks and stones that move under foot with NO summit stone or mast of some sort, just a ring of rocks!! Not impressed at all, but we did this one (which I think was the hardest) in 3 hours 30 mins. I was very hungry and thirsty after this one and felt a bit light headed before we started out on to the next one, but Alan, bless him made me a cuppa and I have a sleep on the way to Snowdon. We had managed to climb and finish in good time, my own personal goal was to keep going! Snowdon was so busy with people on this lovely bank holiday weekend. This mountain was the only one that we encountered a bit of weather, some sleet and hail, how lucky could we get. This time we did it by going up the Pyg Track to the Summit ( only managing to touch and go at the top) then down the Miners Track, which seems such a long way round to the car park. We ran the last 10 minutes as we were not sure of the time. We did this one in 3 hours and 50 minutes. What a brilliant feeling to complete the challenge in time and for such a great cause!
Thanks to you all for donating and sending me some lovely messages to keep me going. It was a hard slog, but definately worth it in the end. I would also like to thank Sabrina for being my 'Buddy' and smiley face on each one, we helped each other (Me on the up, you on the way down! thank God for poles!) also my lovely husband Alan for being there when we got back with a cuppa and encouragement to start the next one. I feel very lucky to have such lovely people around me. I love you all xx
Please Please donate as much as you can for this worthy cause. I would appriciate all the encouragement I can get for this challenge! With my 'coming of age' I have been looking for something to make a difference to peoples lives.I hope that you will follow me on my journey of training in the snow and rain as well as in the sunshine!
