We wanted a new challenge this year, and whilst undecided, I read the tragic yet inspiring story of Alastair Mackay's accident along with his astounding road to recovery. The families’ story moved me and after reading about all the events and fund raising they were taking part in, it gave us the motivation we were searching for!...
I'd never heard of the Great North Swim event, but it sounded like fun, as I enjoy swimming and above all being over in the Lake District! My brother, Peter, soon talked me in to doing the partnered (1.9K) Swim (8.7K) Run event as an extra, fun 'Team Youll' challenge.

The Great North Ambulance Service played an integral role in saving Ailsa's Dad's life and they, without doubt, save countless lives year upon year. Please support us and give what you can to this amazing charity, thank you :) 

Finally, Will and I are joining Ailsa and her friends in the Total Warrior Event, hopefully to further increase the funds raised for GNAAS. The training for such a torturous event has been slightly daunting, but I promise with your support we'll keep going!! (if you'd like to join in, please let us know, your more than welcome!)
