Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Cancer is something that's been prominent in our family and this is our chance to do a little something to raise some funds for a cancer charity and have a really fun night at the same time. My nana died of breast cancer when I was just ten years old, she was just 52 when she was diagnosed. She was far too young. 7 years later my mam (Pauline) was diagnosed aged just 34, nothing prepares you for the news. My aunt Kath was then diagnosed when she was 41 and with several complications she went through a torturous time. This prompted me to have a risk-reducing double mastectomy - at 34 I was the same age as my mam had been when she was diagnosed and I was the only one left in the family who hadn't been diagnosed (yet!) I wasn't sitting around to wait for it to happen. Watching the people you love have to endure surgery, chemotherapy and then more surgery for reconstruction is hard, really hard, believe me. If by raising a little bit of money we can help Cancer UK with more research, then hopefully less people will have to endure this in the future. Just a few pounds from you could really help.
