We want to do something to help with the fight to find a cure for cancer. I lost my wonderful, courageous Mum and Dad some years ago when they were still so young and I was too young to lose them. My Dad never walked me down the aisle, never held either of my children in his arms. My Mum missed out on our second child being born and sadly both of our children never knew the love of Nana & Grandad . I miss them every single day. I truly believe if my mum, who had bowel cancer back in 1992, had it now, she may well still be with us. The diagnosis & treatment now is far advanced to back then and many, thankfully, survive this cancer because of the development in research. 

As for my lovely Dad, by the time they found the cancer in 1987 it was too late & the doctors never knew where the primary cancer came from. Two weeks after diagnosis he was gone. It's still painful now and I believe you never get over the loss of a loved one...you just learn to live with it. They were amazing, loving, kind-hearted parents that left a positive impact on everyone they knew. So it was a devastating blow to us all to lose Dad when he was only 52 years old and so close to retirement. That same year Mum lost her twin sister to stomach cancer. Mum was never the same again and she then left us 7 years later...devastating. 

Even though my story isn't nice, sadly it's not unique. There are people who've had it really tough and at least I can say I had a wonderful childhood crammed full of great, fun memories! My parents were amazing and I'm so grateful to them for all their love, wisdom and the moral compass they passed on to me and my siblings.

Too many people have been affected by this relentless disease in one way or another. The only way to fight it is through research so PLEASE find it in your hearts to pledge whatever amount you can. Any amount is very welcome.
