Story
I'm swimming a mile for charity! It's crazy and I've never been a good swimmer but I look so sexy in a wetsuit it would be rude not to. The Great North Swim is in Lake Windermere on June 23rd. If I can avoid any lurking deep-lake creatures and steer clear of other swimmers' writhing limbs I will consider it an ultimate success.
*** The Great North Swim has been cancelled due to terrible weather conditions and I am now swimming the Great Manchester Swim on July 1st in Salford Quays *** - thank you for all of your generous donations, I will still be swimming a mile, just one week later than expected!! ***
I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support; the money goes towards improving the lives of people affected by cancer. You can read more about the charity on their website.
To make the sponsorship more exciting I'm also going to give away a 'Calico kitty' tote bag (check it out here: http://bit.ly/L6S58S ) filled with loads of my illustrated goods such as cards, pocket mirrors, and bearded men so if this interests you, just take a guess at my finishing time and put your guess in the note with your sponsorship - The closest guess will win the loot.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
