Story

What I'm doing:
A sponsored slim. It's a year long project, starting today 19th March
2011. Don't worry I have enough to lose to last the whole year. :-/
Well, I've been trying to lose weight for ages, and have managed a little
bit. I thought I needed a reason to make me not give up. I thought about
all the things that are important to me, my boys, my family.
I couldn't choose just one charity, so I've set up 5 different pages. All
of the links are below.
I will be giving a monthly update (Eek!) on my progress.  This is no easy
task, any tips, encouragement, support, gin(it's only 60 calories), will
be greatly received.
I have a sponsor who is matching my weight loss pound for pound, I'm not
asking you to do this, just give what you can, and if you can's afford it
at the moment don't worry there is a whole year. :-)
Thank you,
Nic

My Charities:

Headway: As you probably know my Dad had an accident when I was 12 and suffered a major Brain injury.
He was never quite himself again.
I want to help the people who helped him. He lived in a home in
Birmingham for some years after his accident, and sadly died in 1999. He
didn't know who we were but that didn't stop us loving him.  There was a
lot of laughs in the home, and Dad had a quality of life that made it
worthwhile.

Alzheimer's Society: This is for Jenny, my Mother in law, and my boy's
Nonna.  She has Alzheimer's and unfortunately got it very young.  They will
never know what a fantastic woman she is. So caring, strong, and correct,
but overall loving.  I'd like others to know their
Grandma's/Nonna's/Mum's/Mother in law's.  Because they do know best!

NSPCC: Simple one this, to help children that need help.

Cancer Research UK: This one is for my Auntie Eun, She had Breast Cancer and survived but went on to get Bone Cancer.  It's 20 years since she died, and sad that she never got to meet my boys. She would have loved them to bits. She liked a bit of spirit.  She never married and was a
fantastic Auntie, who used to play Monopoly marathons with me until the
early hours of the morning, never letting me win, being ruthless in her game
tactics.

Comic Relief: I've done some really daft things in the past for Comic
Relief, but I don't thinkanything tops dressing as a red nose and running a mile through Hinckley town centre,  When I was 15! So embarrassing but I did manage to raise £500.
