Story
This summer I shall be completing the London Classics to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. The London Classics is a collection of athletic events consisting of the London Marathon, the RideLondon-Surrey 100 mike cycle event and the two mile SwimSerpentine event.
BCRT focus on raising awareness and providing funding for research into bone cancer. Bone cancer has some of the worst survival rates and receives an extremely low amount of funding. For example, Ewing's Sarcoma hasn't seen a change in survival rates in the past 30 years, and there hasn't been any changes to the drugs used to fight it since 1987.
I've personally seen this, and know full well that if the first attempt at treatment using the drugs currently available doesn't work then the only option is palliative care. For those that do survive the severity of the treatment used means that they are often left with lifelong issues with their heart, lungs, and other organs.
Any donations are hugely appreciated and if anyone has any further questions please ask away!
