Story
Olly has been a great friend and an inspiration to our daughter Grace. Grace loves to see Olly at the hospital and looks forward to exchanging texts and face timing each other. Having Grace make friends going through something similar has given her a support network of not being alone on journey that none of us wants our children to take.
Grace and Olly met at the Great North Childrens Hospital where she has been receiving treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia since 11th August 2017.
Grace will be under the care of Paediatic Oncology until 9th January 2020, 2 days before her 13th birthday. Hospital has been a very big part of her life for the past year, and for the following 17 months. She was in hospital for 2 1/2 weeks at diagnosis and has had numerous admissions for infections/temperatures, planned chemotherapy. She has had weekly appointments for clinic and far too many chemotherapy’s to remember, 18 anaesthetics for lumbar punctures (and chemo) and bone marrow aspirations.
By supporting Team Olly, Monies raised will be used to improve the life for the inbetweener kids at the Great North Childrens Hospital (RVI Ward 4/14) Charlie Bear for Cancer Care (Freeman Hospital) ... those too old for the toys in the playroom and too young for the amazing facilities provided by the Teenage Cancer Trust.
