Once again I've been hijacked to cycle 340 gruelling miles over five days from Huddersfield to Wembley in support of Rugby League Cares, which look after the welfare of the games most important assets, the players. 

It's a tough ride but the pain will only be the equivalent of about thirty seconds of what the players go through each week in the name of entertainment. Even after more than thirty years of working with these people in my role as a television producer, I'm still in awe of their resilience and bravery on the playing field, and happy to do my small bit to help them in their post career endeavours. 

Rugby League Cares is a charity that touches upon the lives of people involved at every level of the sport, from junior clubs to current and former players. Their mission is to enhance and enrich people’s lives through the power and positive influence of Rugby League. They work hard to ensure the sport’s most important stakeholders, its playing community, get the most out of their involvement in the game, both during their careers and post-retirement.
