Story
Hi all.
Thanks so much for visiting my page. On 16th September I trundled my way around Ironman Wales. This was a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile cycle (with 2400m vertical ascent in total) followed by a 26.2 mile run - a marathon.
If you'd like to read my account of the day itself, have a quick look here: http://londonironman.wordpress.com/2012/09/27/ironman-wales-2012-race-report-ludicrously-long-version/
So why did I do this?! Good question...
I'm trying to raise as much money as I possibly can for the Cystic Fibrosis trust. They fund research into the disease that will eventually lead to a cure. The more money they get right now, the sooner this will happen. Presently the research is directed at gene therapy which, if successful, would be a massive step in the right direction. More details are available here: www.cftrust.org.uk.
Any amount you give will be so gratefully received and goes directly to the CF trust itself.
Here's the blurb about this site:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
There's also another way to sponsor me - text message. If you send "IRON66 £(amount you'd like to give)" to 70070 it'll turn up on this page too.
Thanks for your support,
Ned.
