Nathan's Great North Run 2017

Great North Run 2017 · 10 September 2017 ·
After having a bad spell of behaviour at High School, my Head teacher showed faith in me to improve by picking me to be part of the blue skies programme, run by the Jon Egging Trust. It meant visiting RAF Marham and spending time with the workers there on looking at how we were as a group and how we can begin to reach our full potential. I quickly began to blossom, taking in everything we was learning about each other, and ourselves. by the end of the first year of the programme I was about to present the first level to a room full of faces on how I had found the experiences, and how it was beginning to change my life!
I began the second level full of confidence to succeed and grow further than I had done during the first, and I was ready to show my potential and what I could achieve from the help I was getting. I was doing team building exercises, like high ropes and first aid work, but also looking at some of the amazing things available at RAF Marham like their Rolls Royce facility. I was starting to come out of my shell, and was now improving my education and importantly my own confidence. Not to mention successfully being called Head Boy for my final High School year.
I had reached a point where I could turn back, and be unrecognisable to the person I was just two years previously. From the class trouble maker, to the Head Boy and role model for the young, it had changed me as a person and want to be able to return the favour for the great work they do. By donating to the trust, you can see more young people get the opportunity and support they need to grow in confidence to be able to grab their chances and reach their full potential.
